Euphoric and emotional after winning the 2022 World Cup, the first since 1986, Argentine citizens are willing to place the captain of the selection in an even higher position in the country's history.
According to a survey by Giacobbe Consultores, around 44% of Argentines said they were willing to vote for Lionel Messi to become Argentina's next president after retiring from football.
The same platform also carried out another poll in which Messi was chosen as the most popular personality in Argentina, with 37% of the votes, numbers that confirm the love that Argentines have for the seven-time winner of the Ballon d'Or.
