The Grammy winner adds a new crown to her career with her second single, "Truth or Die," which debuts on two radio charts.
"Water' Springs" by Tyla reaches the top spot on the R&B airplay chart

A month after Tyla's "Water" held the top spot on Billboard's Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, the hit now climbs to the summit of the Adult R&B Airplay list dated February 24th. Released under FAX Records/Epic Records, the track surges from 4th to 1st position, fueled by a 25% increase in plays. This surge in popularity makes it the most played song on U.S. monitored adult R&B radio stations during the tracking week of February 9th to 15th, as reported by Luminate. Thanks to its rapid ascent, "Water" also earns the title of Greatest Gainer, awarded weekly to the song with the largest increase in plays.

"Water" propels 22-year-old Tyla to her inaugural No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart, marking her debut appearance on the chart. This breakthrough single proves to be a crossover sensation, dominating the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart for eight non-consecutive weeks starting in December, and holding the top spot on the Rhythmic Airplay chart for one week in the same month. The string of radio successes adds to the winning streak for the South African singer, who recently clinched the first-ever Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance with "Water" earlier this month.

In other news, "Water" maintains its position at No. 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart for its sixth non-consecutive week. This chart ranks songs based on combined audience totals from adult R&B and mainstream R&B/hip-hop stations. Although the single's audience remains steady compared to the previous week, it has been prevented from claiming the top spot by a historic title: SZA's "Snooze" secures an unprecedented 31st week at No. 1, marking the longest reign for any song in the chart's 31-year history.

Demonstrating its widespread appeal, "Water" continues to lead the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart for the third consecutive week, experiencing an 8% increase in plays in the latest tracking period. Additionally, it maintains its position at No. 8 on the Pop Airplay chart for a third consecutive frame, with a 3% increase in plays during the same period.

With “Water” opening the floodgates, Tyla’s second single has landed on radio rankings. “Truth or Dare” starts at No. 40 on Rhythmic Airplay (up 207% in plays) and at No. 44 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay (173,000 in audience, a 185% gain). Both “Water” and “Truth or Dare” will appear on the singer’s self-titled debut album, which arrives March 22.
